Sarah has always loved food. In her younger days, she loved it a bit too much, and when the Freshman 15 became 40 pounds of weight gain during her collegiate years, she knew she had to take action. Being the bookish/nerdy type, she tackled the problem the best way she knew how: research. She has read countless books, articles, and blogs on the subject of food (and is happy to answer your questions so that you don’t have to do the same).
It became clear very quickly that exercise and lifting heavy things are just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to a healthy lifestyle. She earned a Level 1 certificate from Precision Nutrition and hasn’t stopped her quest for food-related knowledge. She tried many, many different “styles” of eating before settling into the Paleo/primal lifestyle that works best for her, although she still adores peanut butter and oatmeal and is a firm believer that no one nutritional plan is right for everyone.
When she’s not trying out new recipes or working out with the good folks at CrossFit Thornton, Sarah can be found writing feverishly about anything and everything, training for her first half marathon, or hiking/backpacking/snowshoeing through Colorado’s great outdoors.
